Weekend Recap

So it was a strange weekend. First I didn't blog like i wanted but I'm not bothered too much by that. I refer to the old Digable Planet's song Sundays: " Sundays to relax, Sundays to Relax" and I actually take saturdays too, usually. However this weekend was busier than usual.

Spent some time Ikea and got some great deals. And regardless of what other designers say( there's been a recent discussion on my favorite design site, Core77 ,about the merits of their stores and designs) They provide a service. Expecially when that service means saving me money. No it's not about buying something that will last a lifetime but need something for the temporary and to start up then yeah it's the place to go. Though they really need a recycling policy like computer manufacturers are starting to do. Reclaim and recycle.

Anyway so i spent a lot of time putting stuff together. Lots of fun. reminds me sometime why I became a mechanical engineer in the first place: LEGOS!!! you know you love them.

Sunday was more of the same though it started way early playing soccer with some of my fellow country men. They have a sunday morning ritual and my cousin comes and picks me up and we go and then I make a mad dash back in the afternoon so I can go to church. We have an evening service so it's easy to get things done during the day and go in the evening. But we are moving soon and changing the time so I'll have to see how that works.

It was good to go though. Spiritually speaking I've been a bit blocked lately. I believe in God obviously and that we have a personal relationship with him. So after a couple of weeks of realy feeling connected i then had a couple of weeks where my mind was really not where I wanted it..but it allowed me to think about some things differently. Sometimes we get very caught up in doing, get this done, do this, kinda of running around. It's good but not the end all be all and so though i was being productive i felt like i wasn't in touch. So yesterday was good because i was able to feel his presence and be comforted.

The week ahead is an anomoly to me. I'm not sure what i want or have to do. The only thing in my mind right now is to try and resurrect one of my previous attempts at sponsorship. However I'm not looking forward to writing the letter cause it has to be in french and currently I'm going to need some help. My french is crap right now and I want this letter to spark so I'l be enlisting some help. Well I've more than spoken enough today so take it easy all. And as usual I'd love to hear your comments.
